Can I overclock my Laptop?

I don't think Laptops are overclock-able. I just wanted to make sure.

Yes they are overclockable. Just it is advised as laptips runn quite hot as it stands. Using a program like setfsb wont increase temperatures and will allow you to overclock abit

Keep in mind that most laptop CPU multipliers are locked anyway and most laptops only allow you to increase the FSB and/or multiplier by a couple MHz. (to my knowledge anyway)

+1 to that, it's just not worth the effort. Any increase will be negligible and will amount to pretty much no worthwhile gains in performance.

#1 add more ram
#2 add SSD
#3 Get rid of all bloatware
#4 Cooling pad

That is how we all Oc our Lappys no need to mess with Bios settings just add superior hardware and it will almost jump out at ya

You possibly can overclock your laptop. However I would highly recommend NOT doing this as a laptop shell is completely enclosed and no airflow... Unlike a PC you are able to change your fans and add water cooling.

Depends from the laptop. high-end gaming laptops allow overclocking (and have the cooling power to survive it). Most others don't allow any tweaking (I have yet to find a laptop whose BIOS is not stripped to the bone), as they are close to their limits even as-is.

Even with a gaming laptop I wouldn't... Overclocking a laptop is like putting cellophane around your PC case and overclocking it. Where as overclocking a PC there's a lot more airflow.

But Unfortunatly the Laptop won't do the same had to specify cause cell phone Overclocking is way possible over a Laptop

If you want OC and gaming power in a very portable case, assemble a high-end mini-ITX form factor gaming rig next time you upgrade. That's as high-portability you can get without risking.

If you have the Android it has capabilities of that and Most users have done so in fact they have apps for it too

not stupid if you think about it just the natural flow of Technology If Laptop had better and more absolute cooling installed it would be a overclocker

Phones also don't use the same CPU technology so with that being said it is alot more capable then a actual computer I'm finding this out after using Adroid for just under2 weeks

Get yourself a nice little SSD. That in itself will yield far better results than any OCing you could do to your laptop ever could.

Just to add a bit onto android overclocking.... I have a samsubg galaxy ace 2 which has a dualcore 800mhz cpu. Using a program with no voltage boost i have clocked it a 946mhz. I could have gone further but i couldnt be bothered... Just to proof it can be done

Actually, it's be easier to install liquid cooling on a laptop than
it would to figure out a way to get better air flow.

He is right- it may be easier to watercool as it only needs the water pipes in the laptop and airflow isnt as neceassary. Assuming you got a radioator outside. u ii think we wont be seeing this for atleast another year or two
