Solved Can I play Witcher 3?

Do you think I can play Witcher 3 on medium/low settings, in spite of "Can I Run It" Gpu minimum fail on my hardware combination? Experienced gamers' opinions anyone? I had already pre-ordered before they released minimum specs/recommended specs.

If it's the system in your specs I would assume at least low-med settings. I don't think a 7770 and a fx 6300 would not be able to run it. At what fps i'm unsure, I would guess like 30fps possibly depending how heavy that game will be on systems. I'm thinking at 1336x768 the resolution you're using it should be able to. Though I can not assure you it will run optimal since I haven't seen a benchmark on this game since it's not out. I'm thinking it should be able to if you have been able to run heavy games like say bf4 on it and so on.

On 1366x768, I've been able to run Watch Dogs quite well on a medium/high combination settings recently. Also far Cry 4.
I was a bit startled when my system didn't even meet the minimum requirements! I want to play Witcher 3 badly!

According to recent news, TW3 is being tested on Nvidia+Intel (i7) platform for benchmarks. I'm hearing a rumor Nvidia is doing all they can to hinder AMD from optimising its drivers in accordance to TW3, as it uses Gameworks. As my current rig is exclusively AMD based, and not of "high end" variety, I'm in two minds about canceling my pre-order.

Any thoughts are most welcome.

You should be able to play on Low to Medium settings on that resolution.

A rumour it is and should only be taken as such, Nvidia are working with the witcher team, but it's against fair trade to directly hinder performance by allowing a GPU manufacturer to get it's drivers optimised beforehand, Nv are in hot water for doing that with AC unity and guess what, it is still a load of tosh, AMD will obtain a copy of the witcher 3 in beta and optimise as they always do.

If it is a rumor, then there is a chance then that I can play it on medium/low combination, I guess? Competition is a good thing, companies backstabbing each other to get ahead isn't - I'm relieved to hear it's a rumor. I can't afford a high end card+ new psu now. No way.

He's got:
AMD FX-6300 CPU and AMD 7770 1 gig video card.

One site I went to was saying the minimum for TW3 AMD video wise is a 7870, that's a 256-bit architecture card, the 7770 is a 128-bit, there is a considerable performance difference right there.

At least you know what needs upgraded, probably GPU and PSU.

Yes, I was hoping (like TW2) advertised specs could actually be a little overrated than the actual one! That's why asking for opinion. Sometimes, certain hardware combo can perform well over expectations. If not...I'm done for, for this year at least.

How is the R7 265 as a future upgrade for the cash strapped, without buying another new 600w psu?

I'm thinking that my next upgrade should be Antec VP650p 650W from my current psu, once I save up some.

That Graphics card might be to low minimal requirements for this game is a 940athlon and 7870 GPU meaning you need a R270 or higher I would get a gtx960 4gb for 199.00 us it would be way better and offer high detail performance
