Can I Rearrange Items on Taskbar?

I've reorganised my Windows 7 layout to increase the active screen height, including moving the taskbar to the left. By default, this puts the Start button and Quick Launch items at the top, with the notification area at the bottom. I guess I'm aiming for an unachievable tweak, but is there any way of reversing this to put the Start button and QL icons at the bottom so they live in the more familiar bottom left corner?

I don't think that's possible but I'd love to be proved wrong.

UPDATE!!
I did see a tutorial once where you could move the start button to the centre of your taskbar. Where I saw it I don't remember, but moving it another 10" using the same method should be feasible I'd think. Now if only I can find that tutorial.........

Hello Alan,

You can unlock the taskbar, drag Quick Launch to the bottom right above the notification area, then lock the taskbar back if you like. However, there is not a way to move the Start buton that I'm aware of.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Brink's Solution Is Good Enough

Thanks, Lasy B, for the response. I'm afraid Brink's solution doesn't quite prove you wrong but it's not far off.

Thanks, Shawn, for the suggestion. As well as teaching me a bit more about Windows' hidden talents, it's got me pretty close to where I wanted. The slight downside is that the icons on the new toolbar don't provide right-click menus as the user-pinned ones on the taskbar do, but a little fiddling has created an alternative list which suits me fine. ;)

You're welcome Alan. I'm happy to hear that the workaround works for you. :)
