I normally run with System Protection off because I am careful about what I download & run and in general like to have the minimum number of system tasks running. But lately I've been running with it on.
Code:
bcdedit/set {current} description "Windows 7 Home Premium"
Allways put system protection on on OS disk!! It isn't a performance issue at all. It can save you a lot of trouble. For example in case of a bad patch.
I expect no problems after motherboard swap. Of course check device manager afterwards for unknown devices and problems. And check all new hardware. And install motherboard drivers
