I am planning to buy a cpu
Intel g630
asua p8h61 mlx 3
4gb ddr3 1333mhz
1 tb hdd
atx cabin
total Rs14000=$252 and is a budget pc to me

mobo supports both memory and g630 comes with 1066 support only(from ark intel and asus.com)
in Indian rural market 1333 is only common and 1066 very rare
1066 ram may be even low price but it is not available...
is there any problem or any decrease in performance?
1066 ram may be even low price but it is not available...what should i do?
thanks in advance:)

There should be no issues what so ever running 1333mhz ram on that set up. It should run at full speed as well.

My i7 2600K CPU only supports 1333mhz but it runs 2133mhz just fine.

Sorry for my bad manners, welcome to sevenforums by the way:)

I am almost 100% sure it will work at it's rated speed. Like I say, all the 2nd Gen i7 CPU's only support upto 1333mhz but pretty much everyone on this forum that has one runs 1600mhz ram or over.

I know yours is not a 2nd gen i7, but the same rules apply, you should simply need to go into the bios once you have all your parts, set the ram speed to 1333mhz and make sure the timings and voltage are correct and it will work just fine.

The motherboard you have chosen supports 1333mhz ram, the cpu will not limit the ram to 1066. I am sure others will agree with me on here if anyone happens to read this.

To the best of my knowledge, that is what all Sandy Bridge processors run stock, 1333. The memory controller is on the CPU not the board. 1st generation Sandy Bridge runs at 1333, stock.

thanks again Paul....

actually i am new to forms.when i planned to take my new PC .i had the above confusion and searched google (like 1333 on 1066 in g630) one of the result was this
http://www.sevenforums.com/overclocking-case-mods/244448-ram-not-working-1333mhz.html
which you have answered...
in that i don't know more about ram timings and voltage, but i downloaded CPU z(in that thread that guy posted it) and run it..i post my CPU z result so that u can give me the timings volt and other setting to get1333 MHz...i see a lot of timings in timing table
also 1 more thing,in the CPU z ,bus speed is 100mhz...but ark Intel says it 5GT/s..should i change some other settings too? core speed is OK...when i load up the pc it gives it's rated speed from 1600mhz to 2700 mhz...but not bus speed has no change..
here is my cpu z result

I would not mess with the bus speed, it is supposed to be 100 with sandybridge.

What exact ram did you buy? It should tell you the timings on the sticker on the ram. Failing that, looking at the cpuz shot I would say 9-9-9-24 would be a safe setting and the voltage should be 1.5V but again it should tell you that on the sticker.

If you have the option on your board, to set the speed to 1333, change the timings to JDEC#3, 8-8-8-22-30 or if you have trouble JEDC#4, 9-9-9-24, which is usually safe.. You are running at 1066 now, but trust me, you will not see any performance increase if you change it. Only in benchmarks. The CPU bus speed is always 100MHz on Sandy Bridge. On some boards you can increase it a little, but that usually causes problems with other things. When you increase your bus speed, you also increase your ram, GPU and hard drive.
