Can NOT delete a downloaded file

I was downloading a movie and it only downloaded some of the file. Now I want to delete that part file. When I try to normally delete the file, it just sits there with an arrow going round and round.

How do I get this file to delete? Is there some software that will do i9t cleanly?

I tried to rename the file but cannot even do that.

Did you re-boot the computer and then try deleting it [just in case it was still open somehow]?

I don't know if this will help, but you could try Glary Utilities [FREE] => Glary Utilities 5. There is an option to right-click a file and select Wipe with Glary Utilities.

Is this a torrent download normally you can delete it from the torrent if you have torrents running it will lock the file

I went into safe mode and started the deletion of the file. It took about 45 minutes, but finally it allowed me to delete the file. A real PITA.
