Can not enable wireless network card!!!

The computer device manager shows that with the wireless network card is okay, and drivers and everything ok, but the network settings show that the wireless network card is disabled. Network card can not be enabled. I tried with several wireless network cards, nothing changes. The problem arose after the computer's motherboard replacement. Everything is working as before, except for a wireless network card. Where would be a problem in Windows 7?? The network card is a PCI Edimax EW-7128G. Maybe someone knows how to solve this problem?? Laptops have hot key combo's to enable the wifi. Does yours? and if so have you tried it?

I do not have a portable computer. I have a PC and a network card is a PCI slot.

Try shutting down the machine, then unplug the machine and push the start button to bleed off extra juice, remove the wireless card from the machine. Reboot the machine then go into Device Manager and uninstall the drivers for the wireless card, shut down again, unplug the machine and push the start button again, reinstall the wireless card and reboot. Windows should see the card and reinstall drivers for it. Home this helps.

The network card is detected and the Device Manager shows that everything ok. But under the network settings show that the card is disable. Importantly, that attempts by the various network cards, all the same problem, tried with a USB network card, just the same. The problem is Windows. But where exactly, I do not know.

I tried already, and will build all sorts of different drivers, nothing changes.

Changing mother boards often requires you to reinstall Windows for it to work correctly. You may also need to call Msoft to tell them that you changed motherboards if your using OEM copy.

I have licensed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, it is not pirated copy.

It's very common for a new board to require a reinstall of Windows in order to work properly. This fact will not change for you I'm afraid.

You could a repair install but that usually is for fixing other types of problems.

I do understand why you may not want to reinstall... Sometimes there is no other way. could be bios issue, i suggest trying another wireless card. The drivers for that card and Windows 7 are currently fighting.

I like to solve the problem, reinstall Windows is the last thing I'll do.

I already tried another, and inserted in the USB, nothing, all one and the same problem. Windows is at fault. Will know where the problem!

Here is the resolution to this problem

Just in case anyone else finds this page trying to fix this...

do the following:

Go to windows services control panel (Start > Run > services.msc)

Find the "WLAN AutoConfig" service. Set the service start mode to "Manual" or "Automatic". then start the service.

IF the service is in disabled start mode, windows diagnose and repair may not be able to fix it...

Edimax Wireless Card

I had the same problem with my new Edimax EW-7722In card. The solution (thanks to Edimax technical support, to give credit where it's due) was to disable the self-defence mechanism in Kaspersky by unticking the relevant box. That done, I then removed the driver etc via Device Manager and reinstalled from scratch. It worked!!
We had previously tried the "WLAN Auto Config" solution recommended below but this did not work for me.
I hope this works for others.
