Error 0x80300024". please help me install win7 again!!

do you have any ways of getting backups of your data? if so, I recommend doing a re partitioning by deleting any of those existing partitions.

Hi,

What is on the other 750GB partition? Do you perhaps have another OS installed to this 750GB partition?

Is there another separate hard disk on this system?

Golden

Yes, Kaktussoft is correct, hence the request about the other HDD. Often the system files will try to span across more than a single disk during an install. Unplug DISK0 as suggested, and then install.

You should have only have 1 drive connected when you begin the install.

I assume this is a single drive system with multiple partitions. If that is true, you have nothing to unplug.

On the other hand, if you have 2 drives, unplug the one that you don't want to have Windows.

The best idea is to connect the drive that will have Windows to port 0, so that it will be Disk 0. You can get away with installing Windows on Disc 1, but in certain circumstances that can later cause problems.

So--disconnect all hard disk drives.

Then connect the Windows drive to the motherboard connector to which the 2 TB drive was connected--that is port 0.

Leave the 2 TB disconnected.

Install Windows to the other disc now on port 0.

After the install is finished and everything looks cool, reconnect the 2 TB to port 1. It will then show up as Disk 1, not disc 0.

Hi,

Do the following in this order:

1. Unplug the 2TB drive.
2. Install Windows to the 195GB partition on the plugged in disk
3. Plug the 2TB drive back in again.

Now you can continue as normal. During installation, it is always recommended to only have a single disk plugged in at a time. This makes the installation easier.

EDIT : Looks like we posted at same time Ignatz - sorry didn't mean to butt in.

Golden

No sweat Golden.

Do you remember that caveat about putting Windows on Disc 1? I ran that way for years without issues, but recall a post on this forum somewhere about how that can on rare occasions cause a problem of some type??

Could you please clarify that if there is an external Disk 1 then that too needs to be disconnected when installing Windows on Disk 0?

I had till now thought that if Windows was being installed on Disk 0 then Disk 1 and other higher numbered Disks whether internal or external need not be unplugged.
