Hello, i am in need of some help. Ive been trying to fix this all day long and im getting frustrated.

I recently had a new internet connection setup this morning. It was working fine up until 4-5 hours ago, now i cannot browse websites. I can ping yahoo.ca and other domain names and get responses. Im writing this on my iphone connected over wifi, so the problem is strictly with my pc. Pc is connected by wire and it is running win 7.

I cannot access my routers firmware by my pc(but i can on my iphone). Ive tried reinstalling network card drivers, disabling ipv6, inputting googles public dns servers on my adapter settings as well as several command prompt lines that i found by googling. (flushdns and netsh reset ...). Ive tried google chrome and ie. For what its worth, i was able to download and install a windows update.

I would reay appreciate any help.

Can you browse by IP address? For instance,

Code:
try http://www.mozilla.org then 67.215.65.132
Also, click on Start then Run and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as shown, including double quotes:

cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.

That will tell us a lot about your network setup and configuration.

EDIT: So i disabled this laptops wireless card, connected it by wire direct to the router and it still works. So its not an issue where the wireless works but wired does not.

Thanks for the output. You have a similar issue here where I am also subscribed and helped the OP.
http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/178565-network-connection-issue.html
Pls follow my recommendations in Post #6 for now, if it didn't help at all pls see Post# 10, then Post# 13.

Another update of your progress will be nice.

Thanks for the help.

So i booted into safe mode with networking support and still could not browse the internet.

Same thing with trying a different user account

I've already tried reinstalling the drivers for the nic

I tried to reset the TCP/IP stack as well as the winsock corruption command

Neither have fixed the issue. I have never had any antivirus software on the machine other than MSE

I do not see the Wireless ipconfig /all. Can you pls. attach the file this time?
Click on Start => in run or search box type cmd, choose run as Admin and press enter. Open up a command prompt then Copy and Paste these ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt . Please attach the .txt file to be found in your Local Disk 'C' on your next post.

Just to verify....2 of your own computers (wired and wireless) in your home network will not connect to the router. Your friend's laptop is connecting to your network. All correct?
Both wired and wireless ipconfig /all are showing good connection to the router, something must be blocking.

From your friend's laptop, can pls. try accessing the router's page, please click here http://192.168.0.1, are you able to access it? If yes, see if there's any MAC filtering setup, remove it if found.

I have one computer that does not browse. My friends labtop works fine both wired and wireless(the ipconfig that i posted last was from this laptop)

There is no MAC filtering on the router. Once again I will mention that if i remove the router from the equation, and connect my computer direct to the modem is still does not work. I am able to access the routers firmware from the laptop but not from my computer

Can we do some tests?

Wired your computer to the router, open a command prompt and type ping 192.168.0.1 press enter after.

Also, ping the laptop's IP address which is 192.168.0.154, so type ping 192.168.0.154 press enter.

Is the NVIDIA nForce a network card or a built-in network adapter to the Motherboard?

Post the results of the tests please.

OK, i can ping both of those ip addresses. I get four responses pretty much immediately.

The network card is built in to the motherboard

thanks again for your help.. really hope we can get this working

Good to know ping works, able to communicate to the router and to the laptop on your network.

The issue is able to connect to the internet. Have you cleared the browser's cache? Perhaps reset the browser to default setting? What browser are you using?

If still unsuccessful please assign Static IP on your LAN setting.
Set Static IP Address in Windows 7 | MacLochlainns Weblog

Test the connection after and please report back.

We're getting there. :D

I have both google chrome and internet explorer on my computer. I've tried them both. I just cleared the cache and reset IE to its default setting- no luck.

I followed the steps in your link as well and set my ip address statically with no change.

I just tried completely uninstalling all nvidia drivers and reinstalling them but again, no change.

Disable your AV (MSE) and the built in Windows Firewall, see if that makes a difference.
