Can .pst Outlook file be accessed from Windows 10 and 7?

I am about to set up a dual installation of Windows 10 and Windows 7.
Does anyone know if my .pst file (on a different drive) can be accessed by both OSs? Or will there be a problem?
My plan would be to operate both OSs for a while but keep a single email system.

Thanks for any help.

I've tried similar in the past and always ran into problems after a while, the best option for sharing email is using imap.

I decided to test on my laptop - and it seems to work:
I have a Windows 10 and Outlook 2016 on one drive.
I have Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 on another drive.
The pst file is on a 3rd drive.
I seem to be able to send and receive from both systems without any problems.

Neither Windows 10 nor Windows 7 are a factor here; the only factor is Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2010.

You shouldn't have any problem accessing the same .PST file from both Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2010. As long as they aren't both trying to access the same .PST file at the same time.

I have the exact same setup as you, except that I have Linux Mint rather than Windows 10 -- three hard drives: one is the data drive, one is the Windows 7 drive, and one is the Linux Mint drive. I use a SATA power switch to turn on either the Windows 7 drive or the Linux Mint drive (and turn the other one off), while my data drive always stays on.

Whenever I want to switch from one OS to the other, I power down, turn on the OS I want (and turn the other one off), then power up. Like magic, I am in the other OS; and all my data is available, because it is all stored on the data drive.

This is the SATA power switch I am using:
