I know you guys are probably sick of hearing about this stuff. Sorry

I'm using an Eeepc 900hd, just loaded windows 7 ultimate on it. My wireless driver is up to date (so it says, although I've tried to install a new driver, but it "doesn't work on this operation syste,").
I turned off my firewall, followed most of nosferatu's directions in another thread, and I can't seem to figure it out. Everything else can connect to my wireless network (ipod touch, windows xp) but this one can see my network, but when I try to connect, it fails everytime.

I tried disabling the WPA password and it didn't work.

Any other suggestions?

There were some problems reported with your bios not having wifi enabled by default.
If you have the tray utility insalled just enable WiFi "WLAN" from there. If not then press F2 on startup befor the OS loads to enter the bios. It is under intergrated periferals.

Thanks. It is enabled.
I can see my wireless network from the tray icon, it asks for my password, and then fails to connect.

I'am seeing quite a few similar complaints. Must be a driver problem but no clear resolution so far.

I was able to install Windows 7 RC on my Eee PC 900HD. Everything eventually worked, to include the graphics...although I didn't try the FN keys, but for the life of me I cannot get the wireless connection to work. It sees the network hardware resources but doesn't find a wireless network. (When it was out of the box -- with XP Home-- it found my wireless and I've never had any issues with my other wireless laptops.) Has anyone else been able to get this to work?

There is however an updated wireless LAN driver for your Eee PC 900 HD dated 7/7/09 located at the Asus site. http://support.asus.com/

I tried the updated driver and no dice. It wouldn't let me install it because, even though it was the windows 7 driver, it said it won't install because it's the wrong operation (sic) system. Odd

The one I found at the Asus site is an updated version of an XP driver. I didn't see any drivers for Windows 7 there for your Eee machine. Maybe you didn't input everything correctly on the way to the driver.

same issue

i have this same netbook.. and also just recently installed win 7 ultimate 32 bit. my issue is that i cant connect to the wireless network. it shows up.. and shows it signal.. but once i try and connect it prompts for the WEP key.. i type it in.and wont connect after that.. when i trouble shoot.. it doesnt come up with any solution.. ive basically looked through every setting for the network adapter.. im not shure what to put for IBSS default 11b mode?, or power save mode (CAM, fast_PSP, MAX_PSP) , or rate adaptive.. i have also tried all 11 channels.. in my services.. i dont have a wireless zero configeration at all.. soo im pretty much stuck, like the guys above, until some one figures this out :/
as for now i can only connect via cable.. and it works juss fine with no probs

when you connect to a network with xp the workgroup is generally called MSHOME - if the new laptop has it named as workgroup you wont be able to connect until they have the same name whatever it may be - hope this helpful.

none of my computers are on xp..i have one on vista.. and 2 laptops on win 7.. not counting the netbook that is having these problems.. its gotta be the driver for it.. because ASUS hasnt made one for windows 7.. only linux and XP.. i think ive only been able to come across 1 other person with the same netbook..having the same issue.. soo i might juss try and buy a usb network adapter.. or maybe (i dont know much about building laptops) look up the specs of the mother board and see if there is a certain type of connecter and see if i cant get another internal adapter.. lol idk why i put that on here.. i know no one cares xD
