I went to sytem requirements lab to check whether i can run the Witcher 3
Everything is fine and recommended except for the GPU.
it says that i have a r9 200 series, yet i have a r9 290x twin fan
why does my pc think i have a different graphics card?
It also says, "recommended r9 290" which i already have!
all my drivers are up to date and i am failed the requirements checks?
can someone tell me why this is please
thanks

My guess is that the tool you ran cannot distinguish EXACTLY what you have and therefore reports only "200 series", which is correct. The 290x is part of the 200 series. So are the 270x, the 260x, etc.

It's like a CPU tool recognizing a CPU as an "Intel i5" series, but not being able to distinguish between an i5-2500 and an i5-3570.

i see, thank you for this, maybe my pc will be fine after all. i do notice it sometimes to struggle on highest settings for some games, though i reckon this is another issue altogether :) thank for the quick reply

Your rig will run that game fine, why do you need assurance from some program ?

You have a 3770K, 16 Gb of ram and a 290x, your rig will run any game on the planet :D

Some Constructive criticism: :)

You should work on your specs, why do you have things listed like this ?

Graphics Card Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series, -1 Mb

no need to write the words Graphics Card, it`s already there, and who makes the card Asus ? MSI ? etc and how much memory is on it ? What is -1 Mb and if it`s a 290x you should put 290x :)

What version of Windows 7 are you running ?

You should also add your Power supply Make and Model.
