Can someone help with java issues?

I am having a problem running certain programs. It pulls up Java and just continues to run and never finishes. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried reinstalling and disabling and it hasnt worked.

The first thing I would do is to find out whether Java is working properly on your system.
To do so, visit: Test your Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
Then I would check which version of Java you have: Verify Java Version
Then I would check the Java Help section for help for your problem from Java (Sun).
