can,t install router

hi all

i,m new to this site,i need help with a small problem,i recently bought a new computer and i,m trying to install a netgear router i tried running the disk for the router but all i get is problem with network adapter.i then tried diagnose connection problem ang got this message as soon as i connected the router"Local Area Connection"does,nt have a valid ip configuration,please help.

Can you type cmd in search>type ipconfig /all and upload a screenshot of the output?

EDIT: This was suggested to me and is easier for you to do.
type:-

ipconfig /all > %userprofile%\desktop\ipdetails.txt
​

then using the attacment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form to upload it (ipdetails.txt) to us.

hiya ken

sorry it has taken me so long too reply,i,ve got rid of the netgear router and bought a belkin.I have set the router up and is working fine on my pc,but when i put the laptop on it has connected to the router but i,ve no internet connection,clicked on diagnose connection problems ,this is what it said cannot communicate with primary dns server 192.168.1.1
