I bought a new computer that came with an extra copy of Windows 7 64 bit, i was planning on giving it to my brother, can this computer run Windows 7 64bit?

Yes, especially if it ran Vista already. Windows 7 x86 would run well, probably better than Vista did.

You won't see any benefit from running an x64 OS with only 2 GB of memory, so there's no harm in staying with Windows 7 x86 (32 bit). Your license key will work with either platform.

It sounds to me that the Poster bought Win 7 and received the 32 and 64 bit in one package. If this is the case, you can only use one of them at a time. They only have one Key. You would not be able to give one away.
