Hi, I have question, can you create and format documents using windows 7 explain your answer please. I'm not too shabby at figuring out what to do on the computer when I need to do something, but I'm not too familiar with computer lingo and I have to answer this question for a class .

Not sure what exactly you're asking but in simplest terms, yes, you can create and format documents using Win 7. You could always install a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, etc... All of which have extensive capabilities for creating and formatting documents. Win 7 also comes with a limited feature word processing program called WordPad that can create and format docs but isn't nearly as feature rich as the other programs listed.

You can find WordPad at Start/All Programs/Accessories/WordPad. Have a look at it so you know what it is.

Windows 7 is an operating system, you cannot create or format documents with it.

You can install a Word processing application onto the Operating System and use that to create or format documents.
You can also use the applications included with Windows 7 to create and in a limited way format documents.

Semantics perhaps, but some teachers are tricky

Lots of people do - it is and should be the rare case. I don't mind answering as long as Sevenforums doesn't become the place to come and avoid doing your own work.

I have a choice, answer or don't answer, I have chosen not to answer other study related questions.
In a way, it is researching the answer.

Whenever I can, I will assist with homework only when the OP has posted his/her own ideas. I need to see him/her try first and put effort, not copy/paste members' post and submit it as homework.

I agree, as long as 7forums doesn't become a place for people to easily avoid doing a bit of extra work.
