I am having a heck of a time identifying these two missing drivers. There are plenty of results for the id's but not much consensus from what Google gets me. I have also tried the hardware identification site but I don't really understand everything it spits out.

Here is some stuff you might want to know. I reinstalled my OS and installed service pack 1. I manually installed my video/sound drivers and used the Intel Driver Utility to update any drivers it could. As for the other drivers in device manager, they all seemed to install themselves and my system appears to be working fine.

However, I have two rogue devices and I would like to post a picture including their id's. Hopefully someone can identify them :geek:

1.) can you tell me anything from these two screen shots?

2.) If the Intel Driver Utility is reporting I am updated and I know I have the most current audio and video drivers, am I in pretty good shape? :geek:

3.) people tell me to get drivers from the manufacturer, but the drivers i find on the site are all from 2009 and 2009 and all for windows vista because my system shipped with vista. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Your best bet is to download drivers from Here
   Note
You'll notice that Vista was the last supported OS

I would advise the following downloads from the above page
  • CardBus & CardReader driver for Windows VISTA 32 BIT / 64 BIT
  • Chipset Drivers for Windows VISTA 32 BIT / 64 BIT and XP
  • Bluetooth Module Driver for Windows VISTA 32 BIT / 64 BIT
  • Intel Robson Technology Driver for Windows VISTA 32 BIT / 64 BIT (Support Intel TurboMemory Dashboard with -UP command)
  • CIR IR Driver for Windows VISTA 32 BIT / 64 BIT and XP
  • Wireless Select Switch Utility for Windows VISTA 32 BIT / 64 BIT
Start with the bluetooth driver as I've heard of these causing Unknown Device issues in Windows 7

thank you very much. If these drivers try to overwrite a newer driver, will it warn me? I ask because these are all old

If they do ask then it would mean that a newer (functioning) driver exists and you will not need to update. When it comes to the Unidentified Devices it should give no such warning.

Also, you may want to try uninstalling the device from within Device Manager and selecting to remove driver software if given the option. See what happens after a reboot.

well, that program sure listed a bunch of stuff but thats really all it did. I wasn't able to really know which listing was the unknown device. As fro your other option, it did not help. Thank you for all your help. I guess it's not a big deal having this one unknown device.

You'll find that eventually you may need to use a piece of hardware that requires that device and its malfunction will be highlighted when you try to use it ;)
