Can you now trust Java Updates?

I keep getting a pop-up that is wanting to update a Java app.

The pop-up reads as follows: Java update is now available.
jucheck.exe
Oracle America, Inc.

I have been very distrustful of clicking on pop-ups and want to know if this is a legit update. How does one check on Java updates? Is there a specific site to find the latest genuine updates?

Try the update site, it will check your version and inform you if there is an update available

You can expect those Java update pop-ups if you allow the Java updater in msconfig>Startup. I would allow it and Flash player to remind you this way since they have critical security and performance updates for your browser.

I don't trust it.

I uninstalled it from all 5 computers and all is well.

Unfortunately, I had to install it so I did it on only one computer so I could order a birthday present for my sister in law.
