Can you 'reverse' the Take Ownership utility
I know the "Take Ownership" 'app' is available on the forum...works great...
Question is is there a 'restore' ownership to the settings that existed prior to running the above 'Take Ownership' script above ?
Thanks...TiminAz

I've looked for such a utility and tend to use this:
Take OwnershipEx
It's possible to make a backup copy before taking ownership. It might be possible to note the original settings before taking ownership so that they can be restored manually.
For restoring default junctions and permissions there is:
Junction Box
For taking ownership of registry keys and restoring ownership of them there is:
RegOwnit
In order to download either of these you must have send referrer header enabled in your browser.

The best way is to do an image backup before taking ownership, then you restore the image if problem arise or you just want to undo it.

Backup HDD/SSD Image

Agreed.
The simplest and most reliable method.
You could also try using "icacls".
I couldn't make it work despite following the official example.
When I tried to restore permissions using the "icacls" backup file, it didn't do it.
