Can you use an HDMI spliter with system graphics card
I installed a HDMI splitter card to split my Dish TV HDMI signal between two TV's in my office...working fine with no issues.
For my PC...I run a 2 monitor setup...just replaced and old DVI Viewsonic that was fading out with a new Asus with HDMI port. My second monitor is a Samsung connected via it's HDMI port to my NVIDIA GeForce GT630 card...the new monitor (ASUS) is connected via a dvi cable.
Question is can I add another in-line splitter like I did with the Dish TV signals to the NVIDIA card to connect both new HDMI moniors to the NVIDIA GeForce GT630 without any issues or chance of damage to the GT630 ?
Splitter works flawlessly with the Dish HDMI signal to the two TVs...so any issues adding an HDMI splitter to run both HDMI monitors off the one HDMI port on the on the PCs NVIDIA GeForce GT630 ??
Thanks...TiminAz

running 2 monitors off one port on the gpu would result in a mirrored image of the first monitor (if it works at all).

Really, it will just be a duplicate, so what`s the point you won`t gain anything.
Aren`t there 3 video outputs on the video card ?
Use the 3 ports, however you have to make it work.
Question, were you able to watch 2 different tv channels at the same time at your office ? Did you have a box at each tv ?

Different people have different needs. I have my TV cloned with my monitor and someday plan on having two TVs connected to the same HDMI source: one in the bedroom and one in the living room. The OP may just want to be able to watch the same shows on TVs in different rooms.

If you say so
So I`d say to the OP, it would be fine to run the splitter. As my daughter says...........YOLO

It might be necessary to use an amplified splitter.

It's supposed to be DVI then HDMI then Mini port This card in the picture has 2 DVI and 2 HDMI when setting up three monitors you need to use 1 DVI and 2x HDMI
I have two Monitors each one is hooked up to a different port on 1 card 1xDVI 1XHDMI no need for a splitter forgive my sloppy presentation

I would be concerned with using an HDMI splitter and both monitors trying to send EDID information to the graphics card at the same time. It shouldn't hurt the card, but it might confuse it so that it doesn't put out a proper signal.

That is why i showed them the ports to use it's not hard and it's a simple adjustment

HDMI has digital audio along with the digital video. DVI only has digital video. As far as picture quality goes I don't think HDMI will get a better picture than DVI, if that's what your thinking. And as mentioned the splitter will just mirror the one screen on both monitors. You won't be able to extend your screen across both monitors because they will both be connected to the one video card port. The splitter can't send different signals to each monitor. My monitors are all DVI input. My main monitor runs on a mini HDMI to HDMI cable that feeds a HDMI to DVI adapter. The other two monitors are connected to the two DVI ports on my video card. I don't use the sound portion of the HDMI anyway, I have speakers connected to my sound card.
