I would like to know if it is possible to cancel installation at the 'expanding files' phase without losing current OS. At first I tried install W7 on virtual pc and the installation stuck on expanding files 0%, so I don't know if it will also happen on real pc. That's why it would be good to know if I can stop the setup if it gets stuck.
If anybody has any ideas you're welcome ;)

I think that you would not lose anything, but who knows? Download the free Paragon software, make an image as back up, and you will be all right, even if you have to stop the installation.

As far i have been told, Win 7 doesn't make any startup changes final until just before it reboots. I've had the situation happen to me under vista, ( power outage), and have been able to recover just fine. You might have to do a repair of your old OS, but that's all. But an image first, is the best bet.
