What does Device Manager show you for Network Adapters? Any yellow marks? If yes then you need to download and install the driver for the network card.

Did you also do Power Cycle?

Lets uninstall/reintall the problematic network adapter from Device Manager, when you restart your computer it should automatically reinstall the driver back. Please see this tutorial.

In addition, you may try resetting both TCPI/IP and Winsock.
Click on Start=> All Programs => Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Restart the computer after and test your connection again.

If the resets didn't work, we can try assigning Static IPs in your computer, are you familiar with this process? You will need to run an ipconfig /all from a working computer so that we can use the same subnet.

I already tried to connect modem to another laptop but unfortunately results were the same: unidentified network and so on...

There's something going on with your connection then, I'd suggest for you to contact your ISP and see what they have to say.

Try disabling IPV6:
1. Go to the Control Panel and select Network & Sharing center.
2. Click manage network connections and disable your dial up/broadband if you use wireless. Disable wireless if you use dial up/broadband.
3. Right click your network connection and then left click properties.
4. Uncheck the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
5. Click OK and exit.

the problem might be here (from teksavvy site):
"Can I use my own modem?
Yes, you can use your own modem. The modem must support G.DMT and must be PPPoE configurable. Telus modems will not work." - What I have is Netopia 3341 and I have no idea if it supports it.
