Cannot Boot Doosey

Ok,

I am dealing with a toshiba laptop that had 2 partitions: C: was about 50 gigs, and D almost 300. I ended up deactivating the C: drive, then changing the letter - meaning it will no longer boot the windows vista OS that was on it. I have been attempting to delete that partition, and had successfully installed windows 7 onto the D: drive but it will not boot from it!

I then booted from an install cd, 'repaired' the C: drive (at that point it was F meaning it was deleted... and now I cannot get past the boot menu. I can no longer boot from the cd or any drive. What can I do???

You cannot change an OS drive letter without ruining the OS. If you change the Active flag from the System partition it will not boot. You should ask first before doing random destructive steps.

The steps you should be following to get and keep a perfect install are here for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Use a fresh ISO for your licensed version burned with tool in Steps 1 and 2. Boot the installer and delete all partitions, create and format new to begin install. Ignore the small boot partition it will create.
