Cannot Delete a File

I have reinstalled windows and after setting everything up again I decided to delete the windows.old folder .... eveything went fine until I came to a file called flash10h.ocx and nothing I do will remove it therefore I cannot delete my windows.old folder. I constantly get the message that I do not have permission to delete the file. I have tried taking ownership, deleting as administrator, deleting in safe mode but nothing works .. strangely I can rename the file just cannot delete it. I have tried sever "unlocker" programs but they all tell me the file is not locker.

Does anyone have any other suggestions other than putting up with the windows.old file being there forever?

Thanks Dinesh worked a treat .. do not know why I did not try that one.

As a first step I would try to delete all the other folders in windows.old individually. Then I would deal with the bugger.

Edit: Hmm, too late. Dinesh had the better idea.

Maybe you can help with this one??

I have been trying to install a few programs since re-installing windows 7 64x and mostly I have no trouble but a coupld of them I am getting the following error and they will not install .. any ideas?

lol whs .. I had already deleted every other file and folder it was just the one that would not delete but as you can see I have another problem as well and it is also drivibng me NUTS

Have a look at this. Towards the end of the page there is a resolution - it is from XP though: You receive an "An Internal Error has occurred” or a “Setup cannot create the folder” when you install Office XP If that does not solve it, let's look some other place.

Here is an additional version:

1.When you try to install the program, navigate to this folder:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
2. Right-click the folder, and then click Properties.
3. On the property window, click Security tab.
4. Now click on Edit and then click Add.
5. Now type everyone in the box and click OK.
6. Then check Full control check box.
7. Click on Apply and then click OK.
