Hi,

I've tried to follow this instruction https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058 in order to reset Windows Update components (as means to get my Windows 7 updated :banghead:).

In step 3 it says to delete the qmgr*.dat files by using a command prompt. But when I try to do so I get this "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" thing for the both (qmgr0.dat, qmgr1.dat) files.

What do I do?

Thank you.

Boot to Safe Mode and do the deletions there - it's likely that one of the files is corrupt.
If it still fails, then run CHKDSK /F from an Elevated Command prompt, and once completed try again.
