Solved Cannot double click on folders

Hi, as of today I cannot double click on folders to open. I can do it by right clicking. When I do right click "Explore" is bold not "open". I've ran though this tutorial Default File Type Associations - Restore but did help. Anyone know? I would rather not have to do a system restore if I don't have to. Thanks!

Hi, yes. Mine looks just like your screenshot. This just started today. I get an error that says that it doesn't have a program associated with it. But, it's a folder not a program...and every folder. Also, like I said. I can open by right clicking. But, I notice that EXPLORE is bold not OPEN.

Perhpas you have mistaken System Restore with System Recovery ?
They are 2 different animals.
We do system restore regularly. In fact it is the first line of attack when we encounter problems.
System restore merely " roll " the computer back to a date when you had no problem.... like a " time machine ".

You have to learn to use that. It saves you a lot of heartache.

Did you already download and merge the Folder, Directory, and lnk (LNK) options in the tutorial?

You may click Open even if it is not in bold type. Explore will open it as well.

Thanks guys. Sorry it took me so long to get back. @Brink, Thank you!! I had only run the .reg until you asked me. I some other tut it said only .reg. But, after running the others I'm back in fine form! Thanks again!
