Recently; I've taken upon me to upgrade from my Win 7 RC 2 to the release version (both x64 versions). Well it's not really upgrading since I'm keeping the old version in case I screw something up.
I had created a virtual XP computer on RC 2, and tried to use it on the release version by creating a new virtual based on the same VHD file.
The configuration went fine, but I'm not able to login when I enable the integration features ("The system could not login. Make sure your User name is correct..." . I'm sure the password is correct. If I then disable the integration features, Win XP
It's not a BIOS issue since I can use the integration features when I start the virtual PC through RC 2.
First, there are no RC2 of Windows 7, there was only a single RC
Second, I would try creating another VHD and start anew. There might be things in the VHD that looks for for credentials in the Credentail Manager in Windows 7. So, what I would do is, to start a new VHD and try again.

I readily agree with Lebon14 about creating a brand new vhd since the VPC and XP Mode used on the 7100 builds otherwise the Release Candidate builds were also RCs themselves. The final version of VPC and XP Mode were out just prior to the retail release of 7 and are what to be using at this time.
Having created and save customs installs of the 32bit RC on vhds those ran right into problems and were deleted once the final Virtual PC was out as expected. The integrated components actually only work on the XP Mode itself not any other vhd install. That's an option available only to the XP Mode and not seen even on other VM wares unfortunately.
