Cannot find activation key

When W7 first came out, I did the digital upgrade and also got the hard copy of it in the mail a week or so later

sadly it wasnt the lovely box i was hoping for but instead a white envelope and whatnot with the certificate of authenticity on the inside of it.....sadly no key

what do i do now? i know this has to have been an issue for everyone else

Call MS and explain your scenario to them......Activation and registration of a Microsoft product

I believe the key is emailed at purchase.

Check your email, junk mail folder, or ask for replacement from MS Customer Service.

You can also run Belarc Advisor to audit all installed Product Keys on your System.

If you are still running that Windows, will not running Speccy give you the activation key? Or am I naive in my understanding?

If one wants to decipher the activation key of his running Windows, there is actually more than one way - rather tool, one can use.

Speccy, Belarc Advisor...... these require to be installed.

"SIW without installer" is more elegant. Just download the SIW.exe file from SIW | Download (go to the bottom of the page) and click on it. You can even run it from your pendrive. Just try it and then explore it.
