cannot fix icons problem!

Hi all!

Thanks for your great site!
I have a problem with Icons,all my program icons (not the windows icons:like network,control panel and computer icons which are displayed fine) are covered by a white generic file icon ,the icons work but I tried the recommendations such as deleting icon cache (which at first was never found )then I saw that it is named differently " IconCache.db _777", I then deleted it and new one was built but didn't work.I use windows 7 Eternity by Rockerteam and a theme.
I tried many combination of the common solutions I found but nothing works.
I just installed tuneup utilities but I did delete all visual style modifications I had made ,so I am inclined to think that that wasn't the problem even though I am not 100% sure.Short of reformatting the system is trhere a way of fixing this?

This is a third party hack of Windows 7 yes? If this is the case I don't think you'll get much help on this.

Hi rick, welcome to the forums

Your best bet is to uninstall Tuneup utilities (to install later) then try the following tutorial

I have removed tuneup utilities and followed on your advice but did not work.

Try to change the icons size to bigger and then restore the size. To do this right click on desktop-->appearance-->choose whatever you want and then apply... relog and then maybe icons will be fixed. This worked with me, maybe it help you too
