Pardon Me if this question has been asked before!
Every time I try to use "Windows Live Mail" to forward e-mails with pictures, I get a warning - "One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure you want to send this message?"

Are there some settings I don't have set right?

As well I don't seem to be able to attach photos to new mail either?

Thanks for any help in this matter!
Bret

Check the "Security" tab under "Safety Options" to make sure you are not blocking images or using "too much" virus protection. There are several ways to send pictures. The attachment method works via "insert" "file as attachment". If the picture still cannot be found, try saving the original picture from the incoming email to your hard drive and navigate to it via "insert" "image" "in line...".

Thanks roncerr, I made some changes in security we'll see if that helps! I thought of saving attachment pictures to share with others, but that's a lot of work just to forward something!
Also I sent family pics as attachments a while back to a contact, and they mentioned they had to download a program to view them? (Don't know the particulars) doe's LM store pictures sent, on SkyDrive or something?

...doe's LM store pictures sent, on SkyDrive or something?
WLM stores pictures on Skydrive when you use the "Photo Email" option.

In general, there is no special viewer program needed to view photos caused by the use of the the email program you choose to send them. However, you have no way of knowing how the recipient has their computer set up to deal with all the various image formats (jpg, jpeg, gif, png...). For example, they could have their browser set up to view jpg files by default, but some other program or no program at all set up for the same file if the extension is changed to jpeg.

Hi roncerr, I have been having the same problem with live mail and it is VERY upsetting. I have Win7-64 and have my security settings set at medium. I have AVG for a virus protection program and it has been very good to me so far. I guess my question is what should I set my Virus protection at if this is the cause, and what other settings could be causing this ? I do not want to have to save to file and name it and have to look for it just to attach it to an email. I want it to work like my old outlook express in winXP..........Conrad

One thing that wasn't clear from last June was whether this problem could be on the recipient's end or on the original sender's end. What happens if you send a photo to yourself without using Photo Email (i.e. use "file as attachment" or "insert image inline"), then forward it to yourself? If it works, the forwarding problem could be that the original sender used Photo Email and the photo is no longer on their Skydrive or it could be that the recipient has his email program set to not show images. If the test of creating a non-photo email, sending it to yourself, and forwarding it to yourself does not work, then there is a problem with your computer or email security settings.

conradx, roncerr, my picture/attachment forwarding problem did indeed seem to be with my virus suite.
I use Avast, and after disabling "Network Shield", "IM Shield" and "P2P Shield" the problem went away!
To this point I have had NO virus problems with the above disabled.
