I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and an ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB . The video card is hooked up to a Sharp Aquos LC-32GP3U via a Dvi to Hdmi adpater . After installing Win 7 I cannot get the display to read 1920x1080 resolution . The control panel shows it in 1920x1080 , but the display has fuzzy and unclear fonts and I is showing icons and fonts larger than when I had Vista installed ( so I know its not really displaying the native resolution ) . I have tried the latest drivers and older Vista 64 bit drivers and cannot get the display to native resolution , I also tried Powerstrip but it was still showing native resolution , but text was still unclear and fuzzy . With Powerstrip the display was identified as outputing to 1440x800 , but the control panel showed 1920x1080 . Strangely 1776x1000 is available and clear but leaves a large black border and wont fill the whole display . 1920x1080 also wont fill the whole display ( it leaves a smaller border ) . I have read many different suggestions for fixes , but none have worked ! Any help or suggestions are appreciated .

Hi. Is this an AGP card or PCI-e?

Right click it in device manager. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste results here.

I think that's a PCI-e card. In any case, this driver should install well for you.

Hi

I am running that driver version now . It doesnt work in allowing a native resolution .... It will show 1920x1080 , in the Catalyst control panel , but only displays 1440x800 or something like that .

i suggest trying 2 install your original vga driver over the standard vga driver that comes with windows 7,and do that in safe mode by pressing f8 on start up after reboot...hope this works 4 u as it did for me....just do the upgrade thingy in device manager..good luck!!!:)

Why would I reinstall a Vga driver when the display is connected DVI to HDMI ?

Ok , by Vga driver you mean Graphic Card driver ? Which driver do you mean , the Vista 64 bit driver I had before I upgraded to windows 7 ? And then do that in safe mode , reboot and use device manager to update the drivers to current ? Wouldnt that just put me back to the same situation I had after I updated to Windows 7 ?

Does your device manager show the card as standard vga now?
