This error is generated in the Events Viewer by the indexing of the control panel and each time I deselect it, some action re-selects it automatically. Is there a way I can get rid of this permanently. I never use IE.

Windows Search Service failed to process the list of included and excluded locations with the error <30, 0x80040d07, "iehistory://{S-1-5-21-953717249-522076753-1267646649-1000}/">.

Hi ineuw,

This error is harmless but if you want it to stop you can go to the Indexing Options control panel, hit the modify button, and uncheck "Internet Explorer History"

As a further back-up as you dont use IE
Control Panel >> Programs & Features >> Features on/off, (top left)
A smaller window will open - Uncheck IE11 or the version showing.

torchwood, thanks for the instruction but everything you wrote above have been done before posting. In addition, a file/folder search with the "Everything" app showed nothing, nor did a search in the registry. Every time it is unchecked in the Indexing options, it it is rechecked, and it's just annoying.

Hi Ineuw,

You could try rebuilding the indexer
NOTE it will take some time
1. Click on the Start Button, type "Indexing Options" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter.
2. In the "Index these locations" section, remove all the Internet Explorer History items. Click the "Advanced" button.
3. Click on the "Index Settings" tab.
4. Under Troubleshooting, click the "Rebuild" button

Couple of other thoughts
change the How long do i keep History setting to 0
Have you got any GPO restrictions set

WHO is User Account S 1 5 21 ..........1000 -
THE IMPORTANT PART, (from post1)
953717249-522076753-1267646649

could easily be the remnants of an old/discarded user

torchwood, I can't believe the amount of effort you have put into providing possibilities, so again my thanks. The only option for me is to rebuild the index. This is a single user desktop and a new installation of a few month ago, with all the latest updates. Proudly say that "search" is the only persistent issue in the Events viewer. Otherwise, the list is clear.

torchwood, I resolved the issue by turning off indexing and use the "Everything" app from here voidtools. It's much faster and more thorough. Thanks again.
