I have a Samsung Tab4 which Windows 7 no longer responds to when connected via USB to my PC (I have auto-play to bring up Windows Explorer when connected). I connected my Galaxy S5 phone which does respond as expected, so it suggests an issue with the Tab4.

Can anyone suggest which I can look at both on the tablet and PC side as I have files I want to move between the two devices?

TIA

When you are on the computer, can you see the tablet on the network? If so, perhaps you could map a drive to it, then copy the files that way.

If your tablet is connected to the internet:
* You could use a file transfer service to copy the files - do a search for "file transfer service".
* You could email the files to yourself.

If your tablet will take an SD card, you could copy the files to the SD card, then copy them to the computer from the SD card.

Does the tablet charge? If not, then your USB jack might have some dust or dirt in it. Try to clean it out with a toothpick or other non-abrasive object. Then try again to connect it to the computer. If that doesn't work, try another USB cable.
