Cannot install driver / drivers missing on new install win7 ultimate

Hello, this is my first post on the forum, and I hope you can help me.
I have recently been given an HP 6465b probook. It had been dropped and the hard drive had failed. I installed a new hdd and got a copy of Windows 7 ultimate x64. The install went well until I discovered I couldn't connect to the Internet. There are at least 5 drivers missing.
They are for the SM Bus controller, Broadcom netxtreme gigabit ethernet controller, Broadcom netxtreme II network controller, two unknown devices. Now I think about there may be others as well.
I checked the system 32 / drivers folder and they are all there I think.
I tried to install the drivers in the usual way but windows says it cannot find them. I tried to install them from the windows disc. Again windows couldn't find them. I connected to my router via cable to try get cconnected that way but no luck. I have downloaded drivers to cd and installed from there, but I got an error code 10 device cannot start. In sysinfo it says driver not installed properly.
So I am at a loss as to what to try next. I hope the forum can assist with this.

Hello and welcome Amazing I am not a fan of the Windows feature mate and always go for the manufacturers site for drivers

Now if you cannot connect to the net you might need to get them onto stick on another machine and install from the stick.

Thanks for your help. I have got connection to Internet now, so getting the drivers has been a lot easier. Some will still not install, as Windows says it has the correct driver, but cannot install it as access is denied. I presume this means I have to be logged in as an administrator, or is it something else?

Hi, I have a custom built computer (GA-F2A85X-UP4 AMD A10-5800k) and had to reinstall windows. I was able to get all drivers from Gig website but I still cannot use them to update USB. I get an error message stating "windows has found the files for the drivers but it cannot install..." Any suggestions?
