Cannot join homegroup

I have a laptop with windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and a desktop windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. They were networking in till i installed bit defender on the desktop. Now it has avg. My laptop has nod32 smart security. I can only create homegroups on both they both do not jion.

I had issues with AVG and Homegroup. I ended up installing Avast and my issues went away. FTR though, I was able to join the Homegroup but accessing the folders was a problem with AVG installed.

i reinstalled windows on the one with bit defender and now it works
