Solved Cannot make networked printer print!

Hoping someone can help with this problem. We have a Dell desktop and a Dell laptop both running W7 that are part of a wired network via TP Links (this is not a Homegroup - I shared access to each computer) and this all works fine.

The printer was attached to the desktop via a USB and shared with the laptop but I had endless "offline" problems when trying to print from the laptop. So, I uninstalled the printer from both computers, connected the printer to one of the TP Links and re-installed on both computers. They could both "see" the printer and they installed ok and now the printer says "ready" in the device screen. However neither computer is able to print.

For what it is worth I would add that SNMP status is not enabled and if I try to tick same I get an error message (OX000000aa) saying it could not complete port configuration.

I am not techie so I am stumped.

i think I had a similar issue.. since I use a
TP-Link Archer C7 v2 http://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/Archer-C7.html#spec

I had to first install the printer and its drivers to each machine
(I have a old 2008 Toshiba Satellite laptop and my brand new custom build desktop..
both running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64)

Note u need to install the printer first by connecting it to both our laptop and desktop first...
for my HP Laserjet 2300N I need to install the full software package... but for your printer.. idk
since u didn't mention what printer u are using so.. I can't get u download links to its software...

Then install the TP-Link USB Printer controller if u have not already done so and make sure it is auto connected to the installed printer's
installed entry and then it should work

Thanks Melchior. In fact my problem seemed to be to do with “Enable bidirectional support” being checked:

I unchecked this and all was good.

is that in the printers settings or the router?

ok I found the “Enable bidirectional support” in my printers port settings too..
mine is enabled by default and I don't have any issues... lol

hmm... I have both a listing for the HP Laserjet 2300n as well as a HP Universal Printing....
for the universal entry “Enable bidirectional support” is enabled and can be unchecked if needed..
but for the HP Laserjet 2300n entry, its off and unselectable... :/ ooh well what ever I'm good.
