[RESOLVED] Cannot open file Access is denied message

Hi all.

I have a strange issue (or so it seems to me that i am a newbie) . I try to use a small utility which reads massively *.txt files and if they are saved as ANSI it saves them as Unicode.

The problem is that when i run it (run as administrator) i get an error message saying "Cannot open file. Access is denied message"

I am not lazy (or so i think) and i have read the tutorials in here regarding take ownership and the problem still persists.I really don't know what to do.

Please tell me your suggestions?

Are you able to open the .txt files normally?

When you took ownership, did you also set permissions to "Allow" your account "Full control" of the file/folder as well?

Yes i can open the file normally and i have given full control to the folder for my account.

Is this possible this problem to be because of the utility? (which by the way is named ansi to unicode converter by cornelious concepts)

It sure sounds like an issue with the program when you can open the files normally, and you even used "Run as administrator" to run the program elevated.

It seems that the problem was because of the utility.

I have found another which works quit allright.
