Solved Cannot open MS Word or Excel

Tried application manager which states MS Office programs & updates are downloading in the background - also says "done:". Nothing is done because it is not working. I did a restore because I downloaded some updates yesterday (these were KB... updates) and still not working. I have Office 2010. IE 11. Windows 7.

You could try running MS Office Repair. To do that open Control Panel, select Programs & Features, scroll down to Microsoft Office 2010, Right Click on it & select Change, this will open a couple of Repair options to try.

When you say you did a Restore, did you uninstall Office & then reinstall it.

Do you have any other versions of Office installed?.

I did try the MS Office Repair and it worked! I spent all morning trying to fix this, using help in start menu and googling it and could not find a solution. As far as uninstalling the program and reinstall I have never attempted that for any program. I worry about making a problem worse.

Thank you so much for giving me the steps to fix it. If one step is left out I am lost.
