Hi lamarque. Welcome to SevenForums.:)

Try and open Outlook in "safe mode".

How you do this is: Start-type run in (search programs and files), click on run.

When the dialog box opens, type outlook /safe and ok. (note there is a space between Outllook and the forward slash).

Outlook should now open in Safe mode.;)

If Outlook opens without a problem you more than likely have third party programs that are Outlook aware running in the background.

Let us know what the result is.

CANNOT OPEN FILE extend.dat. THE FILE MAY NOT EXIST YOU MAY NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO OPEN IT OR IT MAY BE OPEN IN ANOTHER PROGRAM. RIGHT CLICK THE FOLDER THAT CONTAINS THE FILE AND THEN CLICK PROPERTIES TO CHECK YOUR PERMISSIONS FOR THE FOLDER. I am the only person using this PC and am administrator.

Hi, I'm hoping you can help me please, I cannot open outlook 2010 either, I tried the above and I got this message:
The connection to microsft exchange in not available. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. The rest of my Microsoft Office 2010 package works apart from outlook, I just want to use it for my personal email account not link it to a Microsoft Exchange account. Thank you in advance.
