Cannot Play Conquerors on my Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

I have downloaded Age of Empires, Age of Empires II Age of Kings, and the expansion version.
I am unable to play the game. I was able to play the game before, but it stopped playing on my computer about a month ago.
Any help would be appreciated. If you do reply, please give step by step instructions as I am not very tech savvy.
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium service pack 1 64 bit

Do you get some kind of error message when it won't work? Or does it just not start?

It's a long shot, given that you don't get an error message, but see post #8 in this thread:
