Hi all,

Here's the deal:

Using Windows 7 64 bit.
I have a folder that I cannot remove even in command. The folder contains another folder in it which I think is the issue.

it looks like this:

e:\Work\ghost folder\nuke

I can rename ghost folder but cant delete it. I cannot rename or delete the nuke folder. Both folders are empty.

please help

Nice freeware at link below:

Code:
[URL]http://www.iobit.com/iobit-unlocker.html[/URL]

Often when we try to delete a file or folder in Windows, we see annoying messages such as "Cannot delete file: Access is denied;" "Cannot delete folder: It is being used by another person or program" "There has been a sharing violation;" "The source or destination file may be in use;" "The file is in use by another program or user;" "Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use;" or "Cannot read from the source file or disk." This is usually because the file or folder is in use by another program or user. IObit Unlocker is an ideal tool for such situations. It releases the file or folder that's in use by other programs and allows you to quickly remove or modify it.

Try booting into safe mode and see if that allows it to be deleted. If that worked then on normal boot check to see if has been recreated.

Try the free program Unlocker - it solves most of the problems with "undeletable " files

How about locating the file through command prompt and using the DEL command to delete files or the RMDIR command to remove directories (folders).
