cannot restore

first..my comp is telling me windows is not genuine, second when i try to do a restore it wont let me turn it on i really dont want to return it. and are all those updates neccesary for 7, sry..my ie keeps lagging ive cleaned and defrag but low and behold ..nothing..

Where did you get your copy of Windows 7?

Have you activated it? Activate Windows 7 on this computer
