Cannot save anything

Ever since I got the free upgrade package to Windows 7 home premium 64bit I can no longer save anything from anywhere even if im just typing up a word document and hitting save as. As soon as I do Windows says the program is not responding and restarts it. I would post a screenshot of what it looks like but I cannot even take those since it tries to save them and then closes down. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem at all and knew of any solutions?

Copy and paste to start menu search box, hit enter. Check for anything of interest.

I copied and pasted like you said, and it came up with no critical errors only a warning from microsoftword that happened within the last hour so it was most likely when it stoped responding after I tried to save my school paper

At the bottom of the error is a link to look up information about it at Microsoft. Sometimes it proves helpful.
