Re DVD problems

Hi I have run the software you mentioned

Mats_Run.dvd.exe

The result was exactly the same

"The software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."

So I am no further forward

Thanks hope you can help

PS I did find something at
tsst corp cd/dvdw ts-l632d ata device - Vista Forums

also it mentions a file to merge cdgone.reg

But I'm not sure if this would work

well shelly it mite be worth giving it a go worst that can happen is you have to do a system restore ,
create a system restore point before you do then you can roll back to present if you have to.

Problem with not seeing CD/DVDW

Hi I'm back

Here is my update after searching everywhere for a fix

for my non-functioning DVD drive

I decided to take the bull by the horns and import the file "cdgone.reg"

into my registry, I did copy my registry and do a restore point

I still crossed my fingers and imported the file into my registry and then re-started
the PC

IT WORKED!!!!

WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke to other technical people but they wanted to charge me rather point me in the right direction

So my advice is create a backup and try it

Thanks everyone

Glad that you got it sorted. Though the problem is solved, i'd like you to have a look at the below link. Microsoft has a fix-it tool for it which may solve a number of CD/DVD issues.Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media
