Suddenly I cannot send or receive mail with Outlook or Live Mail.
Account seetings are ok.My laptop has the same settings
and no problems.
With outlook I get error 0X800421008 and...9
With Live mail: 0x800CCC0E
Have Zonealarm and NOD32.Disabling does not help.
I installed Win 7 yesterday and at first I could send and receive.
I wrote in the system specs.
I doubt the relevance in my case.
I have configured my mail client as usual like in the past 15 years...
Tried also the advanced SSL settings...without success.
As I wrote before I have the same settings on another computer
(OE)which work.
BTW:Now one account can receive but cannot send.
The other neither send nor receive.
1) check that port 25 (SMTP) is not being blocked by either the ISP you are logged on to or by any firewalls / AV software.
2) do the same for port 110 (POP)
Email is one of the "bread and Butter" apps on the Internet and usually ALWAYS works.
One point you mentioned -- you can RECEIVE but not SEND on one account somewhere.
This would suggest to me that you are logged on to the Internet away from your normal ISP - such as at a hotel / internet cafe.
A lot of these places block port 25 so you can't send email via your normal email client such as outlook etc but you can receive email.
If you are in this situation then you'll either have to RDP (remote desktop) to a computer connected to your OWN ISP, use a work vpn or use web / live mail (neither of which I like).
