cannot share my internet in windows 7 home basic

i am not being able to share my internet through wireless ..
i can create an adhoc network .. but the internet doesnt get shared ..
but when my friend creates the network i can access it ...
i can be the client but not the server ..

plz help

I believe you need to upgrade to Home Premium or better to get that functionality...

Computers must be running Windows 7 to join a homegroup.

HomeGroup is available in all editions of Windows 7.

In Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Home Basic, you can join a homegroup, but you can’t create one.

On the face of it, you can only join the homegroup your friend creates, but you can't create a homegroup yourself unless you upgrade to Windows Home Premium.

If you want to upgrade, your best way is to use Windows Anytime Upgrade, there should be a shortcut to it under Start>All Programs>Windows Anytime Upgrade.
