I have a desktop and laptop, both runnng Windows 7 Home premium. I find that I cannot download emails to both machines to keep them synchronized. Previously using XP Pro and Vista I was able to have copies of ALL emails on both machines, now despite having both set to keep copies of emails on the server, I can only download current emails to the machine in use, and cannot then download them to the other. I have missed some important messages this way. Can I use Windows Mail to work as previously, or would another email programme allow me to do this?

Your right Stuart that does seem to be an anomaly of Windows Live Mail.
I use a different email address on my laptop but after reading your post I setup the desktop address and no messages. Nothing in settings seem to make it work.
Must be the "Live" aspect of it. Maybe some body knows a trick. Till then I'll use my Blackberry as on the go. I believe Office Outlook would work.
I'll keep my eye on this thread as it would be good to know.
