cannot uninstall applian miniport driver

windows 7 64 bit
device manager shows Applian Miniport #13 with a conflict. It won't uninstall, even in safe mode.
I looked at the properties of my network adaptors, there's no applian stuff there to remove.
can anyone advise a way to delete this?
