1st system
Windows 7 x64 7600 clean install, intel e6550 cpu, intel 965g motherboard, sapphire radeon 4670 video card on 2 monitors, nvidia 6200 video card on two more mornitors, 1.5gb memory
- no problems going to sleep or waking up, using either S1 or S3 as sleep state in bios
2nd system
Windows 7 x64 7600 clean install, intel i5 750 cpu, gigabyte p55-md80 motherboard, sapphire radeon 4670 video card on 2 monitors, nvidia 6200 video card on two more monitors, 4gb memory
- no problems going to sleep or waking up, using S1 as sleep state in bios
- no problem going to sleep using S3, however cannot wake up from S3 sleep. Pressing the power button produces a normal reboot instead of a wake up.
System 2 can sleep and wake up normally when using just the nvidia 6200. It is only when the 4670 video card is used in system 2 that S3 sleep becomes an issue. Doesn't matter if its by itself or paired with the 6200.
I have tried every sleep tweak suggested here in terms of modifying bios settings and advanced power settings. I've tried the radeon driver 9.9, 9.5, and 9.3 for win7 64. There are many reports of S3 issues with MSI motherboards in general, as well as with win7 ati drivers. Open to any suggestions. Thanks
