hey, trying to get my canon imageclass mp360 (it is a combined scanner/printer going, there seems to be a driver installed because I can find it in device manager under 'Other Devices' Canon mp360 series....

and in 'Devices and Printers' it shows up as a scanner, if I look at the properties of this it lists both canon inkjet mp360, as imaging device, and canon mp360 as other devices. . .. both say these are working properly however I can't choose this to print from when I try and print a page.

I tried going to add a printer and choose usb emulator, but this particular model isnt listed in the canon drivers (presumably because its already installed).

There is no option to download this driver for windows 7 64 bit on the canon site as it just says get it from the windows update.

How can I get windows to recognize this as a printer?

(note I have tested and tried adding printers for other canon similar devices mp260, mp460 and can use my printer with these options but it doesnt work properly of course, only printing on a quater of the page :sarc:)

Are you sure about the name? Though I found an mp360 printer but not scanner...

yeah sure about the name, under add printers it was canon mp360 series, or canon inkjet mp360.

I just managed to solve the problem myself after sleeping on it. . .. I removed the driver from 'imaging device' in device manager, and THEN went into printers and devices> add printer> virtual USB port> windows update and then could at last find the mp360 on the list of canon drivers to use as a printer.

windows automatically had installed it under 'imaging device' which had prevented me from using it as an actual printer

oh yeah the mp360 scanner/printer combo machine.

I managed to get the printer working again as stated in the last post but now the scanner isn't functioning!

the scanner was there in devices and printers beforehand. now (I assume after I uninstalled the driver for 'imaging device') it is gone.

I updated the driver and it added an "mp360" into 'unspecified devices'.....
If I try to click 'add device' and search for device it doesnt find anything.

please help!

edit - nevermind I managed to access the scanner after plugging it back in.
Can only access it via WIA though for some reason, still wont show up as a scanner in devices and printers.

Do you have another device in device manager? It may be your scanner, if you find it click uninstall then restart (u can do the same with the printer device)
